Our company has its origins in a Thuringian glass works, which produced the so-called “Star” drop-dispensing bottles in the last century and has given the name to today’s STELLA Kunststofftechnik GmbH. Continuing the tradition of the glass works, we have dealt with the development, production and sales of packaging material made of glass and plastic since the formation of our company in 1949.
The emphasis of our production range is on packaging, dosing and application of liquid pharmaceutical preparations. Pharmaceutical companies of all sizes in more than 60 countries worldwide buy from us a wide range of packaging materials.

From the idea to the finished product
New products are developed on the basis of constant dialogue with our customers and access to a large number of already existing prototypes. After carefully selecting the most suitable materials from a pharmaceutical as well as from a producer’s point of view, construction drawings are prepared with CAD system and first samples are made available by rapid prototyping within a a short period of time.
Larger quantities of samples are produced with pilot moulds manufactured in our own well equipped mould shop. Our laboratory staff monitor this development and, by using standardised and self-developed testing procedures, ensure that the new products meet our customers demands and the requirements of the statutory provisions.
Quality management system certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001
All elements of ISO 9001 are described and interlinked with each other in a uniform database system. Through the comprehensive use of barcode techniques we ensure that all the individual steps are carried out, checked against each other and recorded. The entire system constantly finds acclaim among reputable pharmaceutical companies of international standing, who recognise it as exemplary.
The particular service from STELLA: The entire range of bottles – supplied by selected European glassworks – is tested according to the defect evaluation lists of the pharmaceutical industry. This includes routine checks of micro-biological quality and hydrolytic resistance in accordance with the European pharmacopoeia.
